Advanced Student Experiments Kit SEK - Ultrasonic Waves
The Advanced Student Experiments Kit SEK - Ultrasonic Waves contains the apparatus needed to carry out a range of experiments for students on ultrasonic waves. Detailed instructions are included on CD-ROM. The apparatus is stored in a strong Gratnell tray and are held in place by foam inserts.
This kit is available in two different versions to match the voltage of the power source you're using - 230V, 50/60Hz or 115V, 50/60Hz. 230V is the voltage for the UK mains system.
A Range Of Ultrasonic wave Experiments
The full list of experiments possible with this kit is:

- Comparison of oscillations at two points along a wave *
- Analysis of phase relationships using an ultrasonic "pen" *
- Determination of wavelength and velocity of sound
- How velocity of sound depends on temperature
- Transmission characteristics of ultrasonic transmitters **
- Resonance curve for ultrasonic transducers *
- Transmission and reflection of ultrasonic waves **
- Absorption of ultrasonic waves **
- Superimposition of sinusoidal oscillations *
- Constructive and destructive reinforcement when sinusoidal oscillations are superimposed *
- Recording of wave fronts using ultrasonic pen

Experiments marked with a * require the USB Oscilloscope 2x50MHz.
Experiments marked ** require the Analogue Multimeter ESCOLA 30.
Additionally, when an analogue voltmeter which is unsuitable for measuring alternating voltages of frequencies up to 40kHz is used, the Ultrasonic Adapter Lead is required.
