What Is the Purpose Of an AED Trainer?
The Prestan AED Trainer is a medical training tool designed to demonstrate and practise effective use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). An AED is a device used to aid patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, and to restore a regular heartbeat using an electric shock (or 'defibrillation'). With an AED trainer, users can learn and practise effective use of the device without the electrical-shock to prepare them for real-life scenarios.
Who Can Benefit From Use Of This Medical Trainer?
Defibrillation devices can save lives in emergency situations, and so it is useful for the general public to understand how they function, and when they should be used. Both medical and non-medical personnel can use an AED machine to aid someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, making it an ideal device for a wide range of people to recognise and understand. Specific examples include:
- Doctors and Nurses
- Paramedics and First Responders

- Domestic Carers
