Female Breast Models
The Female Breast Models comes with two models of the female breast - a lactating right breast and a non-lactating left breast. It enables the difference between health and unhealthy breast tissue to be demonstrated.
The sections are held together with magnets for easier demonstration and use.
Visible tissue
Both models feature a sagittal cut. This makes the tissue of the breast gland visible as well as the muscles, ribs, costal pleura, pulmonary pleura, lungs and other deeper-lying anatomical structures.
The cut also shows a range of common diseases that affect the breasts, including mastitis, fibrocystic breast condition and malignant tumors.
Breast Conditions
Each breast shows a range of common breast conditions, enabling students and patients to be taught and educated about these conditions. The high quality of these models makes for a fantastic educational tool.
The lactating right breast is medially divided into two halves. On the cut surface of the external half the tissue is healthy, but the tissue on the inner half cut surface shows breast gland inflammation (mastitis).
The non-lactating left breast features two sagittal cuts and can be separated into three parts. On the sectional plane of the external half the tissue and anatomical structures are healthy, however the skin on the external half is windowed to view the regional lymph nodes.
The external sectional plane of the middle breast cut features cysts and fibroadenoma, and the breast connective tissue on the inner sectional plane of the middle breast cut shows pathological proliferation - fibrocystic breast disease. Additionally, the sectional plane of the inner breast cut has malignant tumors.
