Femoral Fracture and Hip Osteoarthritis Model
The Femoral Fracture and Hip Osteoarthritis Model depicts the right hip joint of an elderly person, in half natural size. The model was developed to provide patients with information in an easy-to-visualise way, for instance before hip surgery.
The external anatomy of the hip joint is shown, as well as a frontal section through the femoral neck in relief on the base. The femoral fractures that occur most commonly in the elderly, as well as typical wear and tear symptoms such as coxarthrosis or hip osteoarthritis, can also be found on this model. This makes the Femoral Fracture and Hip Osteoarthritis Model a fantastic aid to anatomical study - particularly with regard to doctors, students and patients studying the effects of old age and injury on the hip joint.
The Femoral Fracture and Hip Osteoarthritis Model is mounted on a stand for easy display.
Fractures on the Hip Joint Model
The following fractures are shown on this Hip Joint Model:

- Fracture below the trochanters (subtrochanteric femoral fracture)
- Femoral shaft fracture
- Femoral head fracture
- Fracture of the greater trochanter
- Fracture or avulsion of the lesser trochanter (avulsion fracture of the lesser trochanter)
