Kundt's Tube Kit

The Kundt's Tube Kit includes everything that you need in order to create a Kundt's Tube. This tube is ideal for demonstrating standing sound waves and calculating wavelengths of sound using cork powder and is named after August Kundt. the scientist who devised it.

Cork powder is spread evenly throughout the tube by means of a filler chute, then a sound source – for example a whistle, a 1700Hz tuning fork or a horn speaker – is used to excite the powder into a regular pattern of nodes and antinodes. The effective length of the tube can be altered by means of a piston.
