Life/Form Tracheostomy Care Simulator
The Life/Form Tracheostomy Care Simulator enables students to train how to care for a tracheostomy patient, with an incredibly realistic replication of an adult male's airway system.
Realistic Design
The simulator features an incredibly realistic replication of an adult male's airway system. It contains oral and nasal passages and all the appropriate anatomy, including:
- Pharynx
- Epiglottis
- Trachea
- Oesophagus
- Stoma
- Cricoid cartilage
- Representative cervical vertebrae
The oesophagus stops two inches below the trachea opening. Additionally, the chest area contains left and right bronchi, as well as the bronchial tree.
Train In Tracheostomy Care
The simulator's design enables a range of tracheostomy care techniques to be trained and practiced in a realistic setting, including:
- Oral suctioning
- Nasopharyngeal suction
- Tracheal suction
- Cleansing of the stoma area
- Dressing changes
What's more, the simulator also features a viewing window at the bottom, showing the location of a suction catheter in the right bronchus (seen), or in the left bronchus (unseen)
