Lifting Demonstration Figure
The Lifting Demonstration Figure is a desktop-sized mannequin, used to demonstrate the effects of correct and incorrect lifting techniques on the spinal column.
The figure lifts a weight from one of two positions. If the correct technique is used, the spine stays in proper alignment. If the incorrect technique is used, the vertebrae of the spine becomes distorted, exhibiting obvious stress to the lumbar spine. The Lifting Demonstration Figure is therefore useful to providing patients, students and clients with a graphic demonstration of the effects of lifting on the spine.
The mannequin comes on a base which features anatomical illustrations of right and wrong lifting on the spine. A booklet with further information is also provided.
Indications of the Lifting Demonstration Figure
This product can be used by doctors with patients, students, and even by employers as part of health and safety training. This may be relevant to jobs which require heavy lifting, for instance if you work in a warehouse.
A didactic tool, the Lifting Demonstration Figure can teach people about the effects of incorrect lifting in a visual, hands-on way which, as such, is easy to remember.
The Lifting Demonstration Figure is therefore particularly suited for use in the following environments:
- Schools
- Universities
- Hospitals
- Doctor's offices
- Rehabilitation centres
- Workplaces which require heavy lifting e.g. warehouses
