Magnetic Needle

Just like a compass, the Magnetic Needle reacts to the Earth's magnetic pole and indicates North and South. Mounted on a base with a pivot point, the needle is free to swing as needed to identify the points on a compass. The magnetic needle can be used for experiments such as identifying a magnetic field.
