The High-Pressure Mercury Vapour Lamp is for use within the field of atomic physics, for instance when demonstrating the External Photoelectric Effect. Consisting of a hardened glass bulb made from blackened borosilicate glass, and with a tube-shaped hole, the lamp allows for the emission of unfiltered ultra-violet radiation.
This product comes complete with an E27 lamp holder on a stem, as well as a see-through screen to protect the user from UV radiation. The High-Pressure Mercury Vapour Lamp is therefore sturdy, safe and ready for use.
The High-Pressure Mercury Vapour Lamp can be used to demonstrate the External Photoelectric Effect, or Hallwachs Effect. If you wish to conduct this, you will also require the following equipment:
