Variable Inductance Coil

Measuring the inductance and self-inductance of a current-carrying coil is a natural part of any experiment investigating electromagnetic theory. Coils all depend on the insertion of an iron core to operate though.

The Variable Inductance Coil has an iron core mounted on a worm screw; straightforward to slide in and out of the coils. The copper wire coils are positioned in a plastic-coated housing with lifting handles for ease of use and a clear, printed scale makes it simple to monitor how much of the core is inserted.
